Overview
The primary purpose of the Ministry Institute is to train and equip students for ministry, and students have numerous opportunities to lead ministries. These are the current student-led outreaches. We believe strongly that our mission is not only to the students in each of our centers but also to the communities in which we live.
- Hope Central Skid Row Homeless -- Late Saturday night downtown Los Angeles ~ food and clothing distribution
- Jesus Loves All Care Home -- Ministry to wheelchair bound patients
- El Paseo Street Evangelism -- Local South Gate mall witnessing
- Messengers of Peace door-to-door evangelism -- Impacting the community through prayer, invitation to events
- Learning Center -- After-school homework help, tutoring, arts/crafts, recreation, and snack. Star Reading & Math Assessment.
- God Squad -- Elementary and jr. high recreation and Bible studies
- The Annex -- High school and young adult leadership. mentoring, worship and Bible study
- Higher Ground Skate Ministry -- Tuesday night weekly skateboard outreach
- Turning Point -- Free weekly support group for those with life controlling problems; anger, truancy, drug and alcohol addictions.
- Kids Club -- South Gate Park, every Sunday for 8 weeks every summer, over 100 children weekly
- School Teams -- Drug & gang prevention programs
- Holla-lu-Yah Fest -- October 31st, toys and candy giveaway, game booths, prizes
- TCMI Community Outreach -- Wednesday night, Sunday morning: Ushering, children’s church, nursery workers, kitchen crew, worship team, sound technicians
- Assistance at 8 local Churches -- Every Sunday, TCMI students assist with children’s church, ushering, set up and clean up, evangelism, and with outreaches to the community.
