One look at Anthony today and one would never guess his troubled past.
In Anthony’s words…
“I entered Teen Challenge on July 27, 2012. In the first few weeks I started questioning God. Hey, I asked you to help me with a heroin addiction. What am I doing in a choir? Gently He let me know that as I sang he was restoring health to my physical body. And he was.
When I came to Teen Challenge my mom said she’d see me in a year. After my first three weeks I called home and her first words were, ‘You sound different.’ She came to visit and saw something I couldn’t see. But it let me realize that something was happening…change was taking place.
I was the third of four kids in a family broken by divorce early on. In the years that followed, I was hungry to find my identity. At Teen Challenge I discovered that the truest identity about me was that I was God’s. He made me. I know that this is who I was always meant to be. I’m in the Body of Christ, and the purpose of my life is to bring glory to God.”
Anthony is now on staff at his church. He uses his technology skills in administrative tasks, but his passion shows most in his work with children, youth, and missions. He’s discovered that “God uses people to do stuff.”
We’re grateful that God uses people like you to support this ministry and change lives. Anthony is just one story out of many more men and women with similar testimonies.
Lives changed. Purpose found. God heals as they sing.
Thank you for supporting Teen Challenge of Southern California.
