Jason Graduated from Teen Challenge in 2005.

Jason graduated from Teen Challenge in 2005 and was hired as an accounting clerk. Today, 13 years later, he is the Controller for Teen Challenge of Southern California.

Since joining the staff he has earned several promotions, moving into positions of increased responsibility. The value he and his accounting team bring to TCSC is acknowledged every year by our outside auditors in their annual report to the Board of Directors.

A framed diploma in his office testifies to his achievement in earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Cal State University, San Bernardino.
As you read this, Jason is a month shy of his second wedding anniversary. Jason and Sujin were married at the Castle where Jason works.
They are both active in church and outreach ministries. This is Jason now, but 14 years ago, he was a very different person.

As early as elementary school, he began experimenting with pornography and tobacco, then cocaine and methamphetamine. After high school, he went away to college where he was more drug dealer than student. Then came his day of reckoning, the day when the drug life came to an end and a new life began to take shape.

His old life ended in a police pursuit. He was surrounded by officers with weapons drawn and his car was full of stolen items, drugs and cash. Arrested and jailed, Jason met Pastor Kim, a local pastor and jail chaplain, who told him about Teen Challenge. So, on August 22, 2004, Jason left a world of drugs and crime behind.

He entered Teen Challenge in Orange County where his first advisor was Ron Brown, now TCSC Executive Director. If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17). Jason’s life is living proof that these words of the Apostle Paul are true.

Thank you for helping to change Jason’s life with your gifts!
