Her Life and Innocence Restored, Crystal’s Story

When Crystal was six months old, she lost her mom to prison and heroin. Growing up, her two older brothers ran the streets with gangs. She was abused as a young child. By age 12, she was binge-drinking until she would pass out. By age 17, she was a full-blown meth addict.

For Crystal, the drugs and alcohol were a way to deal with the emptiness and deep-rooted hurt she felt inside.

In the eyes of the world, Crystal was a lost cause—but God had other plans. Where the enemy had robbed her of everything, God had plans for restoration.

At Teen Challenge, Crystal learned the truth about God—and who she was in Christ. While the enemy had told her she would be dead by age 18, she found promises in God’s Word that she could have life more abundantly. She learned to deal with her anger and she grew to appreciate her sisters in Christ at Teen Challenge.

Crystal’s story is possible because donors like you stepped up with monthly gifts to help keep our doors open. Because of your donations, people like Crystal can come to our centers and work through the one-year addiction recovery program—still available in Southern and Central California at no charge.

Today, Crystal is married to a godly man and has three children. “I get to relive my childhood through my kids and understand God’s heart for them….They teach me of childlike faith, of trust, and of innocence.”

Because Crystal found new life at Teen Challenge, her children are growing up in the knowledge of the Lord, free of the things that held her back when she was young.

Thank you for helping to make that possible!

Today I’d like to invite you to schedule an automatic monthly donation at teenchallenge.org/Crystal. This allows us to keep expenses down so we can use more of your dollars on ministry and less on administrative expenses. If you have already scheduled a monthly gift, thank you!

I would also like to invite you to go to teenchallenge.org/Crystal and see Crystal tell her incredible story in her own words. Space just doesn’t permit us to tell all the amazing things God has done for Crystal and I think you’ll enjoy this impactful video put together by our team.

Thank you for your support of Teen Challenge of Southern California and for standing with us in faith and freedom.

May God’s blessings rest on you.
